What I think now, one year after launching the EC site

It's been a year since we launched our e-commerce website on March 10th of this year. I wouldn't say that the year went by particularly quickly, but it was definitely a struggle.

I've tried a lot of different things and done a lot of inefficient purchasing and photography, but recently I feel like things are finally starting to click.

Even now I am still experimenting, but when there is something I don't understand I research it and give it a try. If it gives a good result, I ask myself why it was a good result. If it gives a bad result, I ask myself what went wrong.

I continued this trial and error process over and over, and a year had passed.

So, as this is a turning point and I would like to write down as a reminder how I feel now, one year after launching our e-commerce site.

To get straight to the point, what was the biggest thing I felt this past year?

It's difficult to sell clothes online

That's it.

In order for people to buy clothes from our e-commerce site and become our fans, we believe the following process is necessary.

①Let them know

② Make them like it

③ Get them to buy it

④ Get them to become fans

Ultimately, the goal is to get people to become fans.

What does it mean to have someone become a fan?
This means that a store or person gains fans because people think, "The clothes sold at this store are trustworthy and can be trusted."

To be honest, I think the most effective way to get people to become fans is to have a physical store.

Nowadays, there are many stores, including ours, that only have e-commerce websites, but the main media is the physical store.

To give a specific example, I believe that the value of 30,000 yen is different between making a purchase at a physical store and spending 30,000 yen with one click online.

The slight excitement of going to a store for the first time, the atmosphere of the physical store, the service of the store staff, the excitement of trying things on, and the sense of satisfaction on the way home.

The 30,000 yen you pay in a physical store includes all of these experiences.

I think the reasons above are why it's easier to gain fans when shopping in stores.

In comparison, we believe that it is currently difficult for shopping on e-commerce sites to surpass the value of shopping in physical stores.

At the same time, I believe it is possible to get as close as possible.

This is because there are now many EC site platforms, and the number of things you can do on EC sites is increasing (embedding videos, chatting on the site, trying on clothes using avatars, etc.).

What I want to say is,
We are constantly trying new things and fine-tuning our site, trying to increase the value of shopping on our e-commerce site and gaining as many fans as possible.

Looking back a little on this past year,

Around March last year, we had just launched our e-commerce website and had around 20 followers on Instagram.

Of course, the clothes didn't sell, and Hatsuzuki was disheartened by the lack of response.

After that, from around June, we spent 3-4 months redesigning the site, and in October we launched a new site. (To be honest, I was almost at my wit's end during this period.)

Clothes started selling little by little from November, and by December the number of Instagram followers exceeded 1,000, and now it's March 2023 and things are finally starting to take shape.

Although our store is still quite small and unrecognized, we are still able to continue operating thanks to the customers who buy clothes from our store.

I am so grateful to all my friends and customers who always buy from me.

This is getting long so I'll wrap it up soon.

Ultimately, just as the concept of our store is "Back to Basics," we are not interested in flashy clothes or clothes that are popular at the time; we believe that there is value in clothes that can be worn now and in the future.

I'm not interested in fashion that you can buy simply if you have money.

After all, people who can continue to wear clothes that they think look good, regardless of whether they're in fashion or not, are cool. I don't think this aspect will waver in the future.

We will continue to propose what we consider to be standards so that people do not drown in the ocean of information that is the Internet.

It took a really long time again because I had to erase and write over and over again.
I'll end it here.

We look forward to your continued support in our second year!
Please buy lots of clothes from us!

P.S.
Congratulations to Japan on winning the WBC!
Sports are the best after all!
