Hello, I'm Namba, a designer.
This time I would like to show you how to photograph products laid flat.
We are a second-hand clothing store that operates exclusively through our website and do not have a physical store, so we always use our home as a studio for our photography.
There are a total of 10 items being photographed this time!
The main tools used in the shoot are as follows:
① Product ② Mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera ③ Flash ④ Light stand ⑤ Iron
From setting to shooting
After photographing the product, we will cut it out using Photoshop.
First, lay down a white cloth as a background to make it easier to work.
Once you have laid the fabric, decide where to place the light.
I always set the light at about a 45-degree angle to the product.
Put your clothes in the right place,
While deciding on the amount of light to be used by the flash, we take test shots while exploring the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO sensitivity values.
I don't have any deep expertise when it comes to cameras, so I always make decisions based on my mood.
Once the settings are decided, it's time to photograph the product.
We take the necessary shots, paying particular attention to how the product is placed, to make it look as attractive as possible.
We interviewed Kuroda, who is supervising the clothing placement, about the points he pays particular attention to.
Kuroda : When it comes to tops, if the sleeves are wide, they look awkward, so I try to make sure they fit within a square frame.
I also maintain balance using the intuition I developed during my time in the apparel industry.
Kuroda used to work in the apparel industry,
You're good at arranging your clothes.
From here on, it's a repeat of placing the product → taking a photo → placing the product → taking a photo.
Check out the filming in fast forward.
It usually takes about 10 minutes to shoot each outfit.
After taking two or three photos, I usually take a break and play Super Smash Bros.
We both hate to lose,
Once the fighting begins, it's hard to return to filming.
In this way, I photographed 10 outfits in about 4 hours and finished for the day.
In the Smash Bros. match, I ended up winning.
This is how I always enjoy working!
The products photographed this time will be released soon,
Please check it out if you like!
See you soon~
