This is a leather car coat from John Ashford, a private brand of May, a department store founded in 1877. It has the same vibe as Barneys or Neiman Marcus. As it is made by a department store, the leather is of extremely high quality. Many leather jackets from this era are stiff and heavy, or have a silhouette that is too old-fashioned, but this one has a nice silhouette that fits with current fashion. Although the fabric is sturdy, the shoulders fall nicely, so it fits well on the shoulders even when worn oversized. If you wear a fleece or thick knit underneath, you can wear it comfortably even in the middle of winter. This is a piece that we would like both adults and young people to wear.
